About the Founder and President
Dr. Barry J. Berkowitz is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Florida and is
President of Berkowitz Acquisitions, a subsidiary of
Berkowitz Realty, LLC. Through his corporate and entrepreneurial experience, he gained expertise to specialize in mergers and acquisitions in the fields of technology, healthcare and manufacturing, both locally and internationally. As a result of his education and experience, he has earned the prestigious title of Certified Business Intermediary from the International Business Brokers Association.
Barry Berkowitz is also the President of Berkowitz Consulting, established in 1988, where he has accumulated extensive consulting experience in turnaround management, strategic planning and in raising funds for growing companies. Industries that Dr. Berkowitz has served include real estate, technology, manufacturing and healthcare. His most recent assignment was as Chief Operating Officer for a major real estate developer on South Florida. During his three years in that position, he was responsible for all aspects of complex, mixed-use projects in Florida.
Previously, Dr. Berkowitz has been a business entrepreneur as well as a corporate manager, having spent 12 years with Exxon Research and Engineering Company in management and technical positions. He has published extensively and holds several patents. Dr. Berkowitz received his B.E.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering and Materials Sciences from Stony Brook University. He previously served as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the New Jersey Entrepreneurs Forum, sponsored by the NJ State Office on Science and Technology. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors of various businesses and is a member of the International Business Brokers Association, Secretary of Business Brokers of Florida, Southeastern region, and President of Schools for Sale International.
